Intentional Interim Pastor 

Paul Atkinson became a Christian through the love and encouragement of his Sunday School teacher, at First Baptist Church, Waco, Texas.  As Paul struggled with the debilitating effects of dyslexia, she gave him hope to trust in Jesus.   Paul’s step of faith was the beginning of an amazing journey with the Lord.   Remarkably, Paul overcame the crippling  effects of dyslexia  to graduate from Mary Hardin Baylor University (BA), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDIV), and Regent University (PhD).  From the beginning of his ministry, Paul has demonstrated a heart for evangelism and missions.  He served effectively as the Baptist Student Ministry Director at the University of Colorado and as a missionary in India and behind the Iron Curtain in Romania and other Eastern European countries.  In addition, Paul pastored churches in New Mexico and Texas.  He also was the Director of the Golden Triangle Baptist Association, Beaumont, Texas.  More recently, Paul has held various positions with the Baptist General Convention of Texas including Director of Organic Churches.  Paul was ordained to the Gospel Ministry by First Baptist Church, Belton, Texas.  He is a certified intentional interim pastor.  Paul is married and has two adult children.

Associate Pastor and Student Ministry

Gary and his family,  wife Angela and their 4 kids Evan, Rebecca, Trey, & CJ, moved to Blanco, TX in 2020 to join the ministry team at FBC. Gary has been in ministry for 27 + years and is passionate about serving the Lord and loving people. Angela volunteers in student ministry & care ministry & is also a Registered Nurse. Evan and Rebecca are both young adults who live independently while Trey is a senior in HS & CJ is a sophomore.

Children's Director for Kid's Ministry

Stephanie and her husband Ryan have been building a beautiful life together since their marriage in 2008. They, along with their three wonderful children—Aaron, Emma, and Nolan—made the move to Blanco from Dripping Springs, TX, in 2022. She joined our team as a part-time children’s coordinator in the fall of 2022, quickly becoming a beloved member of our community. In the summer of 2023, she transitioned to a full-time role, where her passion for working with children truly shines.

Administrative Assistant

Steve and Cheryl, who have been married for 37 years. They moved to Blanco in 2001 and joined FBC in 2003. Over the past two decades, they have been actively involved in various church roles, including teaching ESL, deaconship, leading Sunday school, helping with Kidz Kamp, and participating in youth activities. Steve works as a finance manager for the state GLO offices, while Cheryl recently transitioned from her role with the State of Texas to become the church's administrative assistant. In their free time, they enjoy traveling and spending time with their grandchildren.

Media Coordinator

Elaine Troublefield moved with her family to Blanco in 2001 and grew up in the supportive community of FBC Blanco. She earned her BFA in Photography from Texas State University - San Marcos in 2015. After graduating, Elaine and her husband, Jesse, started a family, welcoming two wonderful children, Stevie and Holland. Recently, they decided to return to Blanco to focus on their family goals.
